TPH Racing super hero team of Adam, Ryan, Molly and Alex took on the Acton course last Thursday in the latest round of the CCS TT Series. The course leaves Lavenham towards Long Melford, down through Acton and then turns back to Lavenham via Great Waldingfield. 3 straights, 2 junctions. Simples… Poor Ryan who has been battling studying and exams was going well until being held up at the 2nd junction behind a queue of traffic. With his pacing and rhythm ruined Ryan dug in and still managed to post a respectable time with an avg of ~4.8w/kg for the effort. “Don’t make me angry, you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry”. At the other end of “The Hulk” spectrum, “Puny Human” Adam 💪 was setting tongues wagging by again matching Keith Randle’s time. Unfortunately for the pair, Leon West set a new CCS course record taking the W and robbing them of a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner for two. Molly was determined to put Alex back in his place after last week's upset, and despite Alex setting yet another PB, Molly managed to best him by 1.5 mins. Order is restored to the Cutmore rivalry. Welcome back Molly!
Saturday brought the Videre Road Race in Thetford. Adam managed to sweet talk the bosses (Rob and Lucy) into letting him race the 3/4 race with newly minted 3rd Cat Keeds. The weather forecast was terrible. The actual weather was worse! In cold, wet and windy conditions with a considerable dose of Rule #5 applied a reduced field of “Double Hard Gentlemen” took up the challenge. Much Kudos to the Organisers, Marshalls, Commisaires, NEG and anyone else who made the race happen at all. Proper grim conditions saw an attritional race with about half the field DNF. Keeds got spat and after a few laps of TT’ing decided a Latte and some “Flapsnack” was a better option. Adam pulled the pin on his ride when he was struggling to control his bike due to cold and shaking. Certainly an experience and good fun in a #type2 kind of way. No points, but good team camaraderie!
This week TPH Racing riders will be at Maglia Rosso for the 2nd round of the Summer CX Series (Tuesday). We also have the 1st round of the Suffolk Cycle Racing Series at Trinity Park (Wednesday) with hopefully 7 of the team going for glory! Becky will be hoping to repeat her debut Road Race performance at her debut Crit Race… 🤞
Thursday is more TT at Lavenham and also the next instalment of The Pedal House Shop Ride. This is a no drop social ride, back to the shop for coffee and cake. Everybody welcome.
Well done and good luck Racers!

PS. I know The Hulk wasn’t in the Fantastic Four, but at least I didn’t mix my franchises/universes… 😁
