Whilst the team has had some great results and efforts in this early part of the IRL season, It’s important to not sit back and think job done. “If you’re not moving forwards, you’re moving backwards”.
Stu, despite setting a personal course PB, had a disappointing weekends result. 20:32 on a fast day on the E2/10 course in the ECCA Champs was only good enough 37th. It is what is is, but after a string of 1st’s and top 3’s that stung a little. Just a little reminder to us all that it’s not just us working hard, it’s everybody else as well.
We are all in this for the fun of it (and food, see below), but if you want a chance of the rewards for your efforts you’ve got to keep on top of it. Definitely not easy with balancing family, work, school, life, exams and everything else. Well done Stu, great time and cracking effort. Race, Learn, Train, Repeat…
In a similar vein, Molly is deep into exam season which is curtailing her riding, training and racing. She’s still getting out there and doing the CCS Thursday TT series but it meant that last week (with a slow week for everybody) younger brother Alex closed to within 5 seconds of her. Alex is making great strides with his new longer post Christmas legs (and absence of exam pressures).
After Keeds 3rd place finish in the “Old gits and Choppers” 😉 race at Lotus last week some of the team are jumping on the bandwagon in the hunt for what they hope are some easy points… (Shhhh, don’t tell them how hard it really is!) Rob, Adam and Lucy join Keeds in what should be a sunny Norfolk for some more fast and lairy track fun. Lets hope we can get to the Chippy in Long Stratton before it closes this week.
Becky should be ploughing her lone TPH Racing furrow at the IDCA TT on Tuesday. Trying to regain her top Non-IDCA placing after missing a week with CX last week at Maglia. Becky is also bravely dipping her toes into the world of Road Racing this coming weekend with the Diss CC Road Race on Sunday. Good luck Becks, you’ll love it and you’ll definitely smash it!
The flatlands of Suffolk are not enough for Adam so in his wisdom he is taking on the Westmorland Tankard Road Race on Sunday. In the Lake District… Lets hope his 5w/kg Zwift form translates to IRL racing. Looking forward to hearing how brutal that is. 😀
Exams prevent Molly from TT’ing on Thurdsay but Alex will be upholding the Cutmore honour. He’s also got his A race of the season coming up. A dig at the Fastest under 14 1 mile in the local pub Charity fund raiser.
Good luck racers.
