Super Champ Becky, after struggling to walk on Monday following her victorious RR debut on Sunday, managed to get back on the bike in time for the move of the IDCA TT Series to the Battisford course. Keeds was due to join her, but “Old Man Syndrome” struck as the bank holiday weekend befuddled his simple brain and he forgot it was Tuesday and he was supposed to be racing…🙄 After her exertions on Sunday Becky struggled to settle into a happy rhythm with her HR all over the place. She still managed to record a very decent time finishing 15th overall, 1st Lady and 4th best womens time on Strava for the 10 mile course. Making it look too easy Becky!
Thursday brought the fortnightly summer clash of TPH Shop Ride and CCS TT series. Stu, Molly and Alex went for the latter on the Lavenham 10 course, whilst a number of the team helped out with the former. Stu managed to lay some Watts down after some problems with a dragging bottom bracket and finished in 2nd behind a “flying” Leon West. Molly is still suffering from the pressures of studying and exams and had a disappointing ride for her. Just to rub salt into that wound Alex dropped a PB and came away with the Cutmore bragging rights. I’m sure he’ll be sensitive to the needs of his sister focussing on her studies…
In further news, the DissCC RR results have been posted and not surprisingly confirming Becky as 1st. What was a pleasant surprise was instead of the expected 10 points it was 15! So Becky gains her Cat 3 at the first time of trying. Great work!!!
Sunday sees Adam take on the Eastern Region Road Championships (E123) in Colchester, with Ryan and Alex at MSG R5 at Wychwood. Keeds will be back at Lotus on Tuesday to try and match Becky by gaining his Cat 3.
Well done and good luck racers!
